Katie Ekberg
Viola and Violin Faculty
Katie Ekberg, violin, viola, and Suzuki Early Childhood Education instructor, has been teaching since 2007 and began specializing in the Suzuki Method in 2010. After graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Delaware, she continued her pedagogical education by pursuing Suzuki Teacher Training. She has completed all teacher training courses for both Violin (books 1-10) and Viola (books 1-9) in addition to Suzuki Early Childhood Education Stages 1 through 3. She is an active member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, has served on the board of the Suzuki Association of Minnesota (SAM), and is currently serving on the SAM Statewide Graduation Recital Committee.
Katie wholeheartedly believes in the ability and endless potential of students of all ages, from the earliest years through all stages of life, and creates a joyful environment that focuses on nurturing the development of the whole child through musical artistry.
