Jodi Carmeli

Jodi Carmeli is a professional actor, singer, and educator with more than three decades of experience on Broadway, national and international tours, and regional stages. She appeared on Broadway in RENT under original director Michael Greif and originated the leading role of Sugar Kane in the national tour and Las Vegas production of Some Like It Hot, co-starring with Tony Curtis. Jodi also starred as Sandy in the international European tour of Grease and appeared in the national tour of Annie.
A longtime performer at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, Jodi has appeared in more than 15 productions, with leading roles including Dee Dee Allen in The Prom, the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Kira in Xanadu, Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street, Maria in West Side Story, and Eponine in Les Miserables.
Jodi holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Education from Bethel University. Her approach combines vocal development with the skills of a professional performer—interpretation, storytelling, confidence, and authentic connection to the music. She strives to create an encouraging, individualized environment where singers of all levels can develop their unique voice and grow as confident, expressive performers.
