Music is more fun with friends! Laurel offers a wide range of range of group classes and faculty led ensembles for all ages, from early childhood through adults!
Children’s Vocal Ensemble
For students in Kindergarten through 6th grade.
Children’s Vocal Ensemble is an opportunity for young people to have a first experience singing in a small ensemble. Every voice is important, and young singers will have opportunities to sing solos, duets, and trios. Every class also incorporates age-appropriate lessons in music theory.

Schedule: Tuesdays 5pm – 6pm in Laurel Recital Hall
Year Long Class - 32 classes plus performance opportunities. Starts 9/22/26
Tuition: $66.25/month for 8 months
Handbell Choir
For students age 14 – Adult; Age 10 – 13 welcome with parent.
Ding Dong! Ring in the holidays with Laurel! This beginner-friendly handbell choir will teach students ringing techniques, ensemble skills, and easy music reading. No previous music experience required - if you can count to 4, you can play the handbells… trust us! If you’re a veteran ringer, you’ll be able to practice your 4-in-hand skills and practice sight-reading on a variety of bells.
Families are encouraged to participate together.
Music will be selected from winter and holiday favorites.

Schedule: Sundays 2pm – 3pm in Laurel Recital Hall
4 classes November 1 – 22, with a showcase during the final class.

Adult Flute Ensemble
This class is intended for adult students. If you have any questions feel free to reach out!
The Adult Flute Ensemble is a relaxed ensemble for intermediate and early advanced adult flute players. Ensemble members will expand their skill set in intonation, rhythm, and chamber communication in a supportive setting. Adult flute players from all walks are welcomed – you do not have to be currently taking lessons to join! Just getting back into playing after a few years off? Dust off the flute and join in on the fun! Have a low flute sitting around? This is a great opportunity to play it in a chamber setting.

Laurel Chamber Orchestra
This ensemble is intended for adults.
Do you wish you could play in an orchestra but don’t quite have the confidence yet? Join the Laurel Chamber Orchestra and build your experience and repertoire….and enjoy the camaraderie of others embarking on the same journey. Whether you’ve recently started playing or have been studying for several years, you are welcome here!

Schedule: Fridays 6:30pm – 7:30pm

Baroque Ensemble
This ensemble is intended for adults.
Explore the elegance of the baroque in an ensemble course designed for adult enthusiasts! This course focuses on the art of rehearsing in an ensemble while capturing the techniques and styles found in baroque music. First-timers and all instruments welcome!

Adult Clarinet Choir
The adult clarinet choir explores a wealth of music for clarinet ensembles. Hone your musicianship and technique while making great music with clarinetists of varying backgrounds and experience in this intimate chamber music setting.

Schedule: Wednesdays, 6pm – 7pm in Laurel Recital Hall
Year Long Class - 26 sessions plus performance opportunities. Starts 9/9/26

Mandolin for Violinists
Available to violinists with AT LEAST 3 years experience. Youth, teens, and adults welcome!
(Strong violists who are very comfortable reading treble clef are welcome too!)
Have you been playing violin and want to learn how to play with a pick or explore new styles of music? Did you know that the mandolin has the same tuning as a violin? Did you know that there is violin music that also works for mandolin?
For years, violinists and fiddlers have found enjoyment thru playing mandolin and have found that its tuning makes it an easy way to learn a new instrument. Laurel School of Music teacher Scott Keever has created a workshop specifically for violinists interested in the mandolin.
In four sessions, you’ll learn how to hold the instrument and how to hold a pick; to play rhythm differently and how to play with frets; and how the mandolin works as a solo instrument and within an ensemble. Join us and explore how to play melodies AND CHORDS using this exciting cousin to the violin!
Don’t own a mandolin? NO PROBLEM!
Optional instrument loan is included in your workshop tuition – register to find out more!

Adult Viola da Gamba Consort
This ensemble is intended for adults.
Step into the rich musical world of the Renaissance era with the Laurel Viola da Gamba Consort class. This ensemble-based course is designed for experienced adult viol players who wish to explore the unique sound, technique, and repertoire of the viol consort, culminating in a public performance at the end of each term. A recorded audition may be required for new students.
Instructor: Maryne Mossey
Schedule: Saturdays 11am – 12pm
2 sessions of 6 classes each. First session starts 10/10/26.
Tuition: $185.00/session.
